2023 Grand Marshals
Anna & Joe Woyjeck
The Seal Beach Christmas Parade is honored to have Anna and Joe Woyjeck as Grand Marshals this year.
They are Seal Beach locals who raised their children in Seal Beach and continue to be active in the community.
Joe is a 37-year veteran of the fire service and is a long-time board member of the Los Angeles County Fire Museum
in Bellflower. He regularly volunteers at the museum and works tirelessly acquiring and preserving artifacts,
apparatus and fire trucks.
Their son Kevin lost his life fighting the Yarnell Fire in Arizona on June 30, 2013. Kevin was among the 19 Granite
Mountain Hotshot firefighters who perished in that tragic fire. Following this loss, Anna desired to give back to the
community that had shown them immense love and support so she founded the Kevin Woyjeck Explorers for Life Association.
This foundation was established as a 501c3 non-profit whose purpose is to assist young men and women in the
Fire Explorer Program with financial support and material donations. To date, the foundation has contributed hundreds
of thousands of dollars in tuition, scholarships, and fire gear. In 2016, the foundation donated $40,000 in fire gear to the
Los Alamitos fire tech program.
Anna and Joe are transforming the pain from the loss of their son Kevin into a meaningful purpose to help others.
