Arts & Crafts Faire
Chairman's Welcome
This post-Labor Day Weekend, September 8th & 9th, Saturday & Sunday, the misty mornings of Seal Beach turned into vendor tents, springing up like fairy ring mushrooms in the sylvan clearing of Eisenhower Park. One hundred and six artisans, craftspeople, non-profits, LEOs, and Lions set up what turned out to be one of the most successful Seal Beach Lions Arts & Crafts Faire.
Casual estimates placed the crowd size at approximately 6,000 unique visitors over the course of the weekend with no significant police or rescue activity needed for the Faire. Event co-chair Scott Newton said, "this year was our smoothest yet, with the efficient load in and out, thanks to our LEOs and Lion teams." He continued, "this year we did have great attendance, we only had to remove one vendor due to failure to adhere to the rules of the show, and very high sustained foot traffic on both sides of the park."
Thank you to all of our artisans, youth musicians and performers. Also, a great Lions Club International Peace Poster contest was run by Lion Barbara Wright. Congratulations to all of the students from Oak and McAuliffe who participated and to the winners!
It was a great weekend for our LEO clubs, where they sell all the food and keep all the profits. It was an appreciated value to the artisans and of course, the visitors.
Please mark your calendars now for the 42nd annual Seal Beach Lions Arts & Crafts Faire on September 7th & 8th, 2019. For more information, please contact the Seal Beach Lions club at info@sealbeachlions.org. Registration will open on April 1st, 2019.
See you next year!
